My current in-progress body of work, Clean, Consume, Digest, Dispose, is a reaction to the tragic death of marine life because of starvation. Birds, whales, and other marine life are consuming plastic waste and other debris. Because of this, these animals are not getting the proper nutrients and starving to death.

These events have prompted me to think of our relationship to water and to digestion. Water comes into our homes clean via pipes that are hidden within the walls and underneath the house. The idea of pipes and digestion are related to one another. People often say when they swallow something and choke that the food or drink “went down the wrong pipe”.

I am interrogating the connections between pipes and digestion, our relationship with water, as well as cleanliness and filth. The relationships between these concepts have complex implications with our attitude and action toward the natural environment.

The series with consist of wall and floor sculptures as well as drawings.
